LS Head Bolt Torque Specs & Sequences
Before threading your new head bolts into your block, it is very important to clean the head bolt threads out. You can do that with a thread chaser.
**These Specs only apply to stock style ls head bolts**
99-03 LS Head Bolts - TRP Part Number TRP98545
1997 through early 2004 blocks with 3 different length bolts:
M11 Bolts:
1st Pass = 22 lbft
2nd Pass = 90 Degrees
Final Pass = 90 Degrees on 8 longer bolts, 50 Degrees on 2 shorter bolts
M8 Bolts:
22lbft after all long bolts have been torqued for their final pass
04+ LS Head Bolts - TRP Part Number TRP00568
04+ blocks with 2 different length head bolts
M11 Bolts:
1st Pass = 22lbft
2nd Pass = 90 Degrees
Final Pass = 70 Degrees
M8 Bolts:
22lbft after all long bolts have been torqued for their final pass
