These GM camshaft retainer plates are designed to fit behind the front cover and act as a seal for the front oil passages that feed oil to the lifters, cam, and main bearings. They feature a specially designed gray O-ring seal to keep oil sealed in. The plates support greater cam loads. Similar to GM part # 12589016.
